A light ode to the lovely winters end of Northern Colorado, Springtime is Here features a sweeping melody, first heard by the solo flute. The themes of nature returning, emerging, and coming back to life as hibernation concludes brings the melody to life in this vocal three part work for middle school choir. Performance notes: The solo flute will require a professional or advanced student who is accomplished and has had experience performing in solo and ensemble settings. Written for the Boulder Country Day (Colorado), Spotlight Singers and performed on March 14th and April 18th 2025.

Groove Factory is a constantly evolving, highly rhythmic work written for middle school band. The piece is in g-minor and g-blues, making it approachable for young secondary level musicians, while still providing tonal and rhythmic challenges along the way. The piece was written to promote groove-based music, featuring jazz-funk style in a young concert band setting. The grade of 2-3 was selected because of the challenges in the percussion parts. Optional parts are included and are encouraged if your program has a large percussion section with a range of skills. The piece was premiered in April of 2024 at Boulder Country Day (Colorado), and was written for Dr Kathryn Eagles and the BCD middle school concert band.
